Ben Milsom is a production designer with over two decades of experience shaping the visual worlds of major international productions. He works at the intersection of architecture, storytelling, and large-scale fabrication — building environments that define how audiences experience narrative space.
His career spans some of the most ambitious productions in contemporary cinema. As Art Director across all three of Peter Jackson's Hobbit films, he helped construct the visual language of Middle-earth at full scale. That work led directly to James Cameron's Avatar franchise, where Ben contributed as Art Director on both Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025).
Beyond the tentpoles, Ben has brought the same rigour to character-driven work — Pearl, M3GAN, and Neill Blomkamp's Oscar-nominated District 9. As Production Designer he now leads the full visual conception of a project, from initial research through to on-set realisation.
